Krasnyi Oktyabr Inc. recall: Cold Smoked Salmon, Halibut, and Trout
Krasnyi Oktyabr Inc. of Brooklyn, New York, is voluntarily recalling Starfish Seafood Trio – Cold Smoked Salmon, Halibut, and Trout, 8 oz (227 g) packages, because the product has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes , an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
What to do
Consumers who have purchased the recalled Starfish Seafood Trio are urged not to consume the product and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
